The Modern Mystery School isn’t just an incredibly cool name. It’s a global community of leaders, changemakers, and visionaries who are dedicated to doing the spiritual work required to create a strong foundation for world peace. I co-run Modern Mystery School Boston in Waltham, MA along with my brother, Jordan Bain.

What is the Modern Mystery School about?
The school administers the Lineage of King Salomon, a comprehensive and timeless path of ancient mystery teachings, initiations, hermetics, esoterics, metaphysics, and kabbalah that supports mastering the art and science of transformation - for personal empowerment and for service to others. This lineage was handed down from teacher to student for the past 3000 years and was only open by invitation. Founder Gudni Gudnason opened the doors of the Modern Mystery School to the broader public in 1997 and the school has since expanded to open headquarters in Toronto and Tokyo with regional centers in Brazil, Europe, South Africa, and the United States and initiates in over 50 countries. Modern Mystery School Boston is a teaching and healing center in Waltham, MA dedicated to offering Lineage activations, healings, and classes to spiritual seekers and changemakers throughout New England and beyond.
Why is Lineage So Important?
The mystery teachings of the Lineage of King Salomon empower us to learn through the heart and soul, rather than the mind, and they cannot be conveyed through books, videos, podcasts, or apps (even though those are neat and convenient, right?!). They are based on giving you permanent energetic keys that open doors within you to experience true spiritual awakening and empowerment, and these can only be delivered in person.
All true spiritual paths will require leaps of faith into the unknown at some point, but within the Lineage of King Salomon, you can at least see who has walked before you, where the path leads, and what fruits have come from those journeys. The keys that you receive ground deep spiritual experience and progress into your daily life - not “peak experiences” that you return home from wondering how to integrate them into your life. Lineage teachings will always push you to grow bigger than the challenges you face, experience things for yourself, take responsibility for your choices, step into your power, and reclaim your self-worth.
Modern Mystery School Leadership
The school’s impact has grown immensely since 1997 as more and more people look beyond business as usual and choose to seek personal empowerment and social change. Founder Gudni has trained two additional lineage holders for over a decade, Sovereign Ipsissiumus Dave Lanyon and Sovereign Ipsissimus Hideto Nakagome, to create a new form of leadership called the Third Order (Ipsissimus is an esoteric title). Together with the Council of 12 Women, the Third Order guides the school globally.
Gudni Gudnason
Founder Gudni Gudnason was born in Iceland and grew up steeped in the mysteries. He traveled widely to receive teachings and initiations in a myriad of traditions. His teaching career spans over 40 years of Kabbalah, Alchemy, Metaphysics, Quantum Physics, and much more. He is a multidimensional being and constantly creates as an artist, a producer, a philanthropist, and a musician.
Dave Lanyon
Sovereign Ipsissimus Dave Lanyon came to the this work from decades of teaching martial arts and personal development and was initiated into the lineage in 2004. He is a true warrior of light and channels his experience in martial arts and self-discipline to teach others to recognize their negative ego and rise above it.
Hideto Nakagome
Sovereign Ipsissiumus Hideto Nakagome was initiated into the lineage in 2000 and has since become a master healer and the leader of the Ensofic Ray Institute. He holds the deep wisdom and humor that comes from a lifetime of esoteric study and practice across Buddhism, Shamanism, and the Lineage of King Salomon.
