Hitting Rock Bottom Is Often the Starting Point For Healing, But It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way
You've probably heard that changing your life for the better requires going beyond your "comfort zone".
The truth is that your comfort zone isn't actually comfortable, it is just your familiar nest of junk habits, social conditioning, and old emotions that are predictable and therefore feel safe to your nervous system.
Your nervous system has evolved to crave predictable sh**tiness over the ongoing growth than having a truly good life requires.
All true growth is going to challenge you, destabilize your "comfort", and most likely, require you to go through your nervous system feeling unsafe as you move beyond what is predictable. [see the ps. below for a note on safety]
I've been practicing healing work in some capacity for nearly 20 years now and I've realized that there are only two reasons why people take the risk to change their lives for the better.
1. They are so fed up with their own self-destructive or self-sabotaging patterns that staying stuck is worse than the fear of change. In the recovery world, this is rock-bottom, but it doesn't necessarily have to look like your life totally falling apart.
2. They develop a connection with the possibilities and goodness outside and beyond their comfort zone and their goals become bigger and more important than the fears of the unknown.
The first scenario is your lower self and your subconscious mind driving your life into the ground before you change. Change happens as a last resort.
The second scenario is accomplished by inviting your higher self to ride shotgun and help you consciously navigate growing into a bigger of yourself. Change is driven by your love, devotion, and passion for what you are working towards for you and others.
Most people come to the world of spiritual study initially because they want to heal, get unstuck, and overcome the negative habits of the lower self. It takes what it takes and if you are here, serious kudos for walking through darkness and choosing to grow.
But eventually, if you want to really grow and build a life you love based on spiritual connection and purpose, you have to create a real and lasting connection with the higher self.
Part of the reason why the work we do with Life Activation and Empower Thyself Initiation is so powerful is because it starts the process of healing by creating the connection with your higher self and your unique spiritual blueprints and purpose.
➡️ You stop needing suffering and self-destructiveness as your motivation to grow. You still may choose it from your own free will, but it isn't actually necessary.
➡️ Instead, you open up the energetic pathways to be consistently connected with the inspiration of why you are really here and your motivation shifts to learning your necessary spiritual lessons and the life you want to create.
From there, you can start to grow into a greater version of yourself while also dealing with healing the lower self and subconscious mind that want you to stay stuck so it can feel safe. This is true healing, not a formula for spiritual bypassing.
Both scenarios are valid ways to change, but life gets a lot better more quickly if your higher self is an active member of the team.
The most important thing is that you know that change is possible and a greater life is version of yourself is possible, no matter what age you are or what you've been through.
Lots of love and stay inspired 💋❤️
ps. please note that there is a huge difference between feeling unsafe because of challenging your subconscious programming versus *actually* being unsafe - the former is necessary, the latter is not and knowing how to navigate the difference is part of why enrolling the support of experienced healers, guides, and coaches is so helpful.
